European QA policies and frameworks – moving forward post Tirana 2024
The European framework for quality assurance is essential to build trust within and across systems and to support international cooperation including student mobility and recognition of study periods and degrees. As the Standards and Guidelines for QA in the European Higher Education area near their 20th anniversary (and the 10th of the revised version of 2015), the EHEA ministers have requested the revision of those standards to respond to and better reflect current developments. This article will analyse some of the key elements to be considered in the revision process and how those connect to the policy priorities of the EU and the EHEA.
